Internship Doctor Duties:
Each department defines the medical tasks that the internship doctor must perform during his training period in the department, and they are an integral part of this description:
- The intern doctor first examines the patient, takes the medical history, records the vital signs of each patient under his care, and documents this in the patient’s file. He must also record the initial diagnosis and suggest the initial examinations and treatment plan, provided that he does not start implementing the treatment plan until it is approved by one of the team doctors. The department official, and the internship doctor, must follow up on the implementation of the prescribed treatment and the results of the tests required for the patient, monitor any new pathological developments that occur in the patient’s condition and document them in his file.
- The internship doctor is obligated to attend the clinical tours conducted by the department’s doctors and implement their instructions. He must also participate in the department’s scientific activities and encourage participation in clinical research conducted in the department in which he works under the supervision of a faculty advisor or others.
- The Intern doctor shall abide by the attendance and departure instructions in the departments in which he works.
Intern Doctor Rights:
- The training should be supervised by the consultants and specialists he works with.
- That the departments and units provide the internship doctor with various cases within the specialization that contribute to enriching his training capacity (according to the hospital regulations).
- The Interns shall have the direct and permanent support of the resident and postgraduate physicians at all times.
- Departments and units provide various educational programs for internship doctors that can be included with the educational programs of the department or unit or be customized for them. These activities include educational passage to patients so that the cases are discussed in detail, scientific lectures, reviews of recent research in the specialty and other educational activities that add value to the trainees.
- That the intern is treated by everyone with the respect and appreciation required by Islamic brotherhood and the norms of medical fellowship, and in the event of any inconvenience, this is referred to the internship office.
- The intern doctor has the right to see the results of the evaluation he obtained in each department.
- The intern is entitled to leave according to what is specified in this regulation (detailed later).
