This plan is considered a blueprint for improving the research focus. Different solutions are suggested to known deficiencies, improving the quality of faculty and student research outcomes. To attain global leadership and excellence in medical education, research, patient care, and community service and to be the destination for young minds who wish to be successful physicians of the future. To achieve this vision, planning must occur to have a measurable impact on the society by means of training highly qualified personnel and by conducting, disseminating and valorizing innovative research.

The Medicine Program research vision and core values were aligned with the University strategic plan and were prepared in accordance with kingdom vision 2030. National and international accreditation requirements were considered.

With the help of pioneering research and discoveries, Medicine Program should benefit the community and organizations in many areas of life and work by helping industries, societies and communities continue competing, improving and evolving.

- Development and improvement of the undergraduate research program for students.
- Enhancement of the research program, workshops and activities for the faculty staff.
- Increase number of publications for faculty members and students in high quality and cited journals.
- Create a system of mentorship program for students to guide their research journey.
- Making a database/hub for published research in the college. This system should allow follow up of adding articles and their citation process.
- Enhance the process of research fund internally and externally.
- Communication with higher university authorities to provide enough supply of equipment and laboratories necessary for performing research. Use of the already present laboratories should be enhanced. Preparation and utilization of the basic science labs.
- Collaboration with other research centers inside and outside the university.
- Aligning the existing structure in the Medicine Program with the University research governance model.
